Barrett Wins Silver in First Olympic Games!!

In her first Olympic Games, Brigetta Barrett of the University of Arizona wowed the crowd as she won the silver medal in the women's high jump final with a new personal best of 2.03. 21 year-old Barrett beat out a stacked field that included 2008 Olympic Champion Tia Hellabaut and American record holder Chaunte Lowe. The gold medal was won by 2012 World Indoor Champion and 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Anna Chicherova of Russia with a height of 2.05. Bronze was won by 2011 World Championships finalist Svetlana Shkolona of Russia.
Lowe, Barrett qualify for final; Acuff out
American Chaunte Lowe and Brigetta Barrett, both contenders for Olympic gold, have qualified for the high jump final set to take place on Saturday. Lowe had a complete clean slate on her way to clearing 1.93 meters while Barrett took two attempts to jump the height.
The Americans' chief rivals, Anna Chicherova of Russia, Ruth Beitia of Spain and defending champion Tia Hellebaut of Belgium, also qualified to the final.
Five-time Olympian Amy Acuff missed the final after failing to clear 1.90 meters.

3. Brigetta Barrett (2.01/2.01) - Coming off a fresh PB at the trials, I'm gonna take Barrett's youthful legs over Russia's Shkolina.
