According to Dan Lilot of Aurum Sports Group, Jerry Schumacher and his training group will no longer be a part of the Oregon Track Club. For the time being, they will remain an individual Nike team as it has not been decided whether they will re-brand into a new Nike club.
The news comes after Shalane Flanagan and Kara Goucher did not wear the usual black and green Oregon Track Club uniform in the Rock N' Roll New Orleans Half Marathon on Sunday. Flanagan finished second with a time of 1:08.31, while her good friend Goucher cracked the top five with a time of 1:11.49.
This weekend, Andrew Bumbalough, Chris Derrick, Elliot Heath, Evan Jager, Lopez Lomong and Matt Tegenkamp will be racing the 5,000-meter run at Columbia's Last Chance meet, according to Armory Track.
Bumbalough, Lomong, and Jager have already raced at the Armory in 2013. Lomong set the meet record in the mile with his winning time of 3:51.21 over Matt Centrowitz. Bumbalough (8:13.02) finished second to Bernard Lagat's American record setting run. Two places behind his teammate, Jager finished fourth in a stacked men's two-mile with his time of 8:14.95.
The three other Schumacher boys are also coming off solid finishes at the United States Cross-Country Championship. Derrick made his professional debut with the victory in 35:38.6 as teammates Tegenkamp (35:55.8) and Heath (35:56.1) finished close behind in third and fourth respectively.
Watch Shumacher's crew run at the Armory live on Friday night on Flotrack. The men's 5,000-meter is scheduled to go off around 8:55 p.m. ET.
