Biggest Breakthroughs From NCAA Indoor Conference Weekend
After a weekend filled with standout marks from around the country, we broke down the performances that showed the biggest breakthroughs against intense indoor conference competition. Check out some of the athletes that are on a big up-swing heading into the NCAA Championships.

Kahmari Montgomery (Missouri)

In one of the most jaw-dropping kicks of the year, Kahmari Montgomery went from fourth to first place in a span of just 200m to claim the SEC 400m championship title. The freshman from Missouri took down World 4x400m champion Arman Hall of Florida in an all-out lean at the line which earned a personal best by 0.30 seconds. Montgomery had already run a personal best of 46.08 in the first round in Fayetteville, but was able to throw down a monster kick to claim his first conference crown in an even faster time just a day later.

Zack Bilderback (Texas)

The senior went out with a bang in his final Big 12 Indoor Championship by capturing the 200m and 400m conference titles on Saturday. The 400m performance was especially memorable as Bilderback beat Jeremy Wariner’s Big 12 meet record with a winning time of 45.27 seconds, which ranks him No. 2 in the world and No.1 in the NCAA. Bilderback’s previous personal best in the event was 45.98 from last year. Watch Bilderback’s breakthrough performance here

Felicia Brown (Tennessee)

The senior threw down a huge performance at the SEC Championships, which earned her a massive indoor personal best and a notable victory against defending NCAA Champion Kyra Jefferson of Florida. Brown secured the 200m win Saturday in Fayetteville with a time of 22.76 seconds, which was 0.31 seconds faster than the Florida standout and a personal best by 0.28 seconds.

Izaic Yorks (Washington), Sean McGorty (Stanford)

One of the most shocking performances of the weekend happened in the MPSF Championships mile where Washington’s Izaic Yorks and Stanford’s Sean McGorty ran the fastest indoor miles ever run by collegians. Each runner split 3:53, which improves upon both of their previous personal bests by four and six seconds, respectively. Watch the epic dual below.

Devon Allen (Oregon)

Devon Allen solidified himself in a number of 60m hurdle record books at the MPSF Championships as the Oregon Duck ran a school record, the MPSF meet record, and broke Ashton Eaton’s facility record at the meet on Saturday in Seattle. After a rollercoaster year and a half that included an ACL tear and two surgeries, the hurdler and football star experienced a major breakthrough with a personal best by 0.16 seconds. Watch Allen take down the competition below.

Devynne Charlton (Purdue)

The junior from Purdue had her work cut out for her at the Big 10 Championships this past weekend, but succeeded with flying colors after collecting a Big Ten title in the 60m hurdles, a runner-up finish in the 60m dash and a fourth-place finish in the 200m. Charlton managed to claim the 60m hurdle title against the No. 1 hurdler in the country, Cindy Ofili of Michigan, with a winning time of 7.97, which also stands as a huge personal best. She also collected a personal best in the 60m when she finished second to Iowa’s Lake Kwaza.

Ryan Crouser (Texas)

Three-time NCAA Champion Ryan Crouser wowed the crowd at the Big 12 Championships with a shot put throw of 21.73m. The mark not only improved upon his Texas school record, but also tied the collegiate record set by Ryan Whiting in 2008. Crouser’s mark is an NCAA lead by 1.04m and a world lead in the event.
