Not only did Grace crush the Olympic standard of 4:07.00, but she also beat out a stacked field that included Canadian Olympian Sheila Reid, Brooks Beast Katie Mackey, and American record-holder Shannon Rowbury. Grace’s performance follows a season’s best 800m performance at Portland Twilight where she ran 2:00.05 in pouring rain.

Highlighted as one of the deepest fields of the meet, the women’s 800m was owned by two-time NCAA Champion Laura Roesler who edged out World bronze medalist Brenda Martinez in a nail-biter finish. Roesler edged out Martinez with a massive kick to claim the victory in 2:00.15, just 0.03-seconds faster than Martinez. The performance is a season’s best mark for the world indoor finalist.

World championship 10K finalist Hassan Mead proved he has some serious 1500m wheels when he took down seasoned middle distance veterans in a 3:37.65 winning time. Mead won his heat and clocked the fastest time of the day, which beat out Jordan McNamara, Charles Philibert-Thibou, and Colby Alexander. The performance beat his previous personal best of 3:38.72, which he set at the same meet in 2014.

Evan Jager opened up the season in his signature event with an 8:15.26 winning time that was closed in a blazing fast 57 seconds for the final lap. The American record holder beat out teammate Dan Huling by three seconds, and notched the eighth fastest time run in the world this year.
