It's common to see a dive at the line to win a championship race, but Kumari Taki took it one step further by sliding into the finish line to win the 1500m at the IAAF World U20 Championships.
At the tail-end of a 53.42-second last lap, the Kenyan athlete fell to the ground with five meters remaining. Determined to win, he slid into the finish and reached over the line to claim the victory Thursday in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Gerard O'Donnell tweeted a video of the photo finish.
Taki's dive won the race in 3:48.63 over Taresa Tolosa and Anthony Kiptoo.
