Sandi Morris broke the outdoor American record in the pole vault with a leap of 4.93m at the American Track League meeting in Houston.
Indoor World and American record-holder Jenn Suhr set the previous outdoor record of 4.92m in 2006.
The leap was a huge outdoor personal best for Morris, who finished second at the U.S. Olympic Trials and set her previous PB of 4.83m at the Doha Diamond League in May. She holds an indoor personal best of 4.95m and earned the silver medal at the 2016 World Indoor Championships.
