Check out the Saucony Flo50 XC Countdown where FloTrack ranks the top 31 cross country teams in the NCAA this season. The No. 28 spot goes to Tulsa this year, and here's why:
JR Ben Preisner (8:51 3K SC; 14:10 5K; 11th at '15 NCAA Midwest XC; 114th at '15 NCAA XC)
JR Henry Pearce (30:26 10K; 25th at '15 Euro XC)
JR Adam Roderique (30:44 10K; 188th at '15 NCAA XC)
SO Jeremiah Ort (8:23 3K; 30:50 10K; 70th at '15 NCAA Midwest XC)
Impact Freshman/Transfers:
Henry Pearce via England (30:26 10K; 25th at '15 Euro XC)
Adam Breaux via Woodlands, TX (4:16 1600)
Analysis:
With last year's Wisconsin Invite champ Marc Scott graduated, the Tulsa men will look to senior Luke Traynor to continue to build momentum after finishing 34th in Louisville and qualifying for the NCAA outdoor championships in the 10K.
After slashing over a minute off his 10K PB to run 29:10 last spring, Traynor could be a top 20 finisher in Terre Haute. Should Juniors Ben Preisner and Adam Roderique move into the top 100, Tulsa's top three could be as good as last year's even without super low (10th-place) stick Scott. Newcomer Pearce brings a wealth of cross country experience from England that should boost the the Golden Hurricanes in the #3 or #4 spot. If sophomore Jeremiah Ort can close the gap this team should find their way back to the NCAA championships come November.
