​​A Kenyan track and field coach has been sent home from Rio after providing a urine sample for 800m runner Ferguson Rotich, according to the Associated Press.

John Anzrah, a former sprinter, is being sent home after he was found with Rotich's credential, who was supposed to give a sample during a random drug test. Anzrah reportedly provided a urine sample and signed forms under the name of Rotich.

Kenyan team leader Stephen Arap Soi called the act a "crime" against Kenya. However, he explained that Anzrah was using Rotich's accreditation card and thus taken to drug testing as Rotich. 

The IAAF is investigating the situation.

Rotich finished fourth at last summer's World Championship. He has a season best of 1:44.05 from the Kenyan Olympic Trials, where he beat World record-holder and reigning Olympic Champion David Rudisha. His personal best is 1:42.84.

The International Olympic Committee issued a statement and plans to investigate the situation stating, "We take note of the decision of the Kenyan Olympic Committee to send home its athletics coach following a violation of anti-doping rules and we thank the NOC for its swift action."

This is the second Kenyan athletics official to be expelled from Rio. Last week, Michael Rotich was sent home after The Sunday Times reported allegations of the official asking for $13,000 from reporters, posing as coaches, to tip off drug tests.
