Women's Mile
Who: Colleen Quigley, Shelby Houlihan, Cory McGee, Rebecca Addison, Katrina Coogan, Piper Donaghu, Dana Giordano, Paige Kouba, Megan Krumpoch, Emily Lipari
When: Friday, 4:45 PM
Why: The women's mile will be led by a star-studded group of pros, notably Olympians Colleen Quigley and Shelby Houlihan. Quigley and Houlihan have been training at altitude for the past few weeks and should be ready for speedy openers. Boston holds great memories for Quigley, who set her indoor mile personal best of 4:29.67 at the BU track in 2015. Quigley is coming off of an impressive 2016 season in which she made her first Olympic team in the steeplechase and finished eighth overall in the final. Houlihan made the Olympic team in the 5K and finished 11th in the final. While competing for Arizona State, Houlihan won the 2014 NCAA 1500m title and boasts a 1500m personal best of 4:03 from last year's Prefontaine Classic. She also celebrated her birthday earlier this week.

Both competitors can look forward to a competitive race with speedsters Cory McGee, Becca Addison, Katrina Coogan, Piper Donaghu, Dana Giordano, Paige Kouba, Megan Krumpoch, and Emily Lipari toeing the line.
Men's 800m
Who: Duane Solomon
When: Saturday, 12:35 PM
Why: Duane Solomon will return for some redemption after a disappointing 600m performance at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix two weeks ago. Unfortunately, Solomon made the mistake of cutting in before the cones on the turn of the track and was disqualified from the race. Valentine will mark the 2012 Olympian's second race of 2017. In 2016, Solomon notched a season's best of 1:45.47 at the Mt. SAC Invitational but was later eliminated during the first round of the 800m at the Olympic Trials. He went on to win the 800m at the Tracktown Classic in Edmonton, Canada, and later finished second at the Tracktown Summer Series in Eugene, Oregon.
Who: Darren Fahy, Philo Germano, Joel Hubbard
When: Saturday, 3:25 PM
Why: The men's mile will likely feature a sub-four-minute-mile attempt from All-Americans Darren Fahy of Georgetown and the Syracuse duo of Philo Germano and Joel Hubbard. Fahy finished fifth in the steeplechase at last year's NCAA Outdoor Championships but has yet to break four minutes in the indoor mile. Germano has notched an indoor mile personal best of 4:01 and famously contributed to Syracuse's team victory at the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Hubbard, also a big contributor to the team victory, is returning from running 3:59 in the mile at the Boston University Scarlet and White meet, where he took down NCAA champion Henry Wynne. Hubbard's season's best is currently No. 14 on the NCAA indoor list.
Women's 3K
Who: Emma Bates, Dana Giordano, Emily Oren
When: Friday, 7 PM
Why: The women's 3K boasts a trio of sub-9:16 talents in Emma Bates, Dana Giordano, and Emily Oren. Bates, a BAA standout, recently ran an indoor 3K personal best of 9:08 at the Armory Track Invitational. In 2016, Bates competed in the 10K at the Olympic Trials, where she notched a season's best of 34:32. Giordano, a former Dartmouth All-American, is returning from a 4:39 third-place finish in the mile at the last Boston indoor meet. Oren, a multiple-time NCAA Division II champion, holds a 3K PR of 9:16 and most recently notched a 9:23 performance at the Meyo Invitational last weekend.
Men's 3K
Who: Collin Bennie, Philo Germano, Matt Hillenbrand, Adam Palamar
When: Saturday, 6:05 PM
Why: The men's 3K will be led by the Syracuse trio of Collin Bennie, Philo Germano, and Adam Palamar, who were all members of the Syracuse squad that won the 2015 NCAA cross country championship. Bennie is coming off a 7:58 3K opener and is currently 13th on the NCAA indoor list. Germano will be opening his season with the mile and 3K at Valentine and is returning from a cross country season in which he finished 49th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Palamar is returning from setting a huge indoor mile personal best of 3:57 at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational. Palamar's performance is now No. 6 on the NCAA indoor list. Former Kentucky All-American Matt Hillenbrand will also be competing in his first race of 2017. Hillenbrand boasts personal bests of 3:57 in the indoor mile and 3:39 in the 1500m.
