NJ*NY Track Club Breaks 4x Mile Indoor World Record In 16:12
In a surprisingly close call, the men of the HOKA N*NY Track Club broke the 4xmile relay indoor world record on Friday night. Donn Cabral, Ford Palmer, Graham Crawford, and Kyle Merber teamed up to run 16:12.81, 3.86 seconds under the old record.
The official results are all splits from the finish line, making mile splits tricky to figure out; by my very unofficial hand, I had Cabral at 4:04, Palmer at 4:00, Crawford at 4:07, and Merber at 3:59. Crawford was a late substitution for Colby Alexander.
It was the second major record of the Artie O'Connor College Invitational, as Sydney McLaughlin broke the high school 300m record less than an hour before.
