Sarah Sumpter - Overcoming A Serious Obstacle

Sarah Sumpter had a routine doctor's apptointment last fall as she prepared for her junior year at UC Davis. At that visit, the 2007 Foot Locker finalist got news she never expected: brain cancer. Scans revealed a signficant tumor that had to be removed immediately. Suddenly everything changed. A year later Sumpter still undergoes treatment, but she is training with greater passion and focus as she leads her team into cross country season. Sarah is excited about getting back into a UC Davis uniform. In this interview, she puts into words what it means to return to action.
