Sheila Reid pressing for Olympic standard after 1500 PR at 2012 Pre Classic
Sheila Reid had a dominating year in the NCAA throughout 2010-2011. Over that span she won two individual cross country titles along with a team championship and also had double victories outdoor last spring in the 1500 and 5k. After her stellar fall campaign Reid did not compete much during the indoor season to prepare for the spring and has been looking to regain last year's form ever since. Although it hasn't been the smoothest road she gained a new PR in the 1500 of 4:10.73 to finish 12th at the 2012 Pre Classic. She will look to defend her NCAA 5k title next week in Des Moines. Reid talks about what her plan has been this year and things that haven't been so smooth. She is learning to manage goals of a collegiate and elite level athlete as she looks to get a chance at London 2012.
