AUSTIN -- LSU was awarded victory in the men's 4x100m after Texas Tech was disqualified for an exchange violation at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Coming into the race, all eyes were on LSU and Florida after both squads broke 38 seconds in the semifinals on Wednesday night.
But Texas Tech wasn't having it, and blasted around the second curve with the lead on both favorites and Georgia. On the anchor, Terrence Jones exploded down the straight and held off LSU late, crossing first in 37.94, which appeared to be a new meet record.

.A quick glance away from the finish and down to the track near the 1-2 exchange saw the officials raise a yellow flag indicating a need for official review. It was determined the Texas Tech's first two runners exchanged out of the zone, leading to the disqualification, drawing boos from the crowd.
LSU, which ran 38.05, was bumped up to first place, followed by Florida in 38.26 and Florida State 38.29.
"It was fast, but it wasn't our best race," LSU junior Da'Marcus Flemming said. "We will take the win, and we will come back faster and stronger. It's fun and it's competition. We're just having fun, and we love it."
