Florida's Emmanuel Bamadile And Ryan Willie Go 1-2 In 400m At NCAAs
Florida sophomore Emmanuel Bamidele held off teammate Ryan Willie by one-hundredth of a second to win the men’s 400m title at the 2023 NCAA Championships.
AUSTIN -- Florida sophomore Emmanuel Bamidele held off teammate Ryan Willie by one-hundredth of a second to win the men’s 400m title at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Bamidele ran a time of 44.24 seconds, which was a personal best and new collegiate leader. Willie, a junior, finished second in 44.25 seconds.Those times currently rank No. 4 and No. 5 respectively on the world list.
Bamidele’s victory was the first for a Florida runner in the men’s 400m at the NCAA Championships since 2000.

Tennessee junior Emmanuel Bynum finished third in 44.49 seconds.
Arizona State sophomore Justin Robinson finished fourth in 44.51 seconds, and teammate Dubem Nwachukwu , a senior, finished fifth in 44.92 seconds.
North Carolina A&T sophomore Reheem Hayles finished sixth in 45.22 seconds, Florida junior JeVaughn Powell finished seventh in 45.32 seconds, and Arizona State junior Gamali Felix finished eighth in 45.34 seconds.
Georgia senior Elija Godwin did not start the race.
