Texas Wins Women's 4x100m At NCAA Championships, Just Off Collegiate Record
Texas won the women's 4x100m title in 41.60, just off their collegiate record at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
AUSTIN -- Texas won the women's 4x100m title in 41.60, just off their collegiate record at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The Longhorns' time was just off the mark of 41.55 they set on Thursday night in the semifinals.
Texas had clean handoffs all around the track, and given their collective speed it created a pressure-free final straight for anchor Kevin Davis.
"Honestly, it's not really that big of a burden, but I trust my teammates, and when they bring the stick around, I know that I have to get across the line," she said.

Kentucky finished second in 42.46, and LSU was third in 42.52. Arkansas, Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, Baylor, and USC rounded out the top 9.
This is Texas' first women's 4x100m title since 2019.
What's their secret sauce? According to Rashidat Adeleke it's camaraderie.
"We know each other really well," she said. "We're friends on and off the track. We have a really good bond, we have really good team chemistry, so it's more than just running for our school, we're running for each other, we're running for each other's families. We're just really close, and it makes it that much more special."
Oh, and enjoying the moment -- which is easy to do when dominating.
"It's definitely just keeping in mind that we just want to have fun at the end of the day," Ezinne Abba said. "We're just here to have fun, get the stick around, celebrate, do more and just do something special."
