The 2023 AAU Junior Olympics is halfway done as day four of the meet starts on Aug. 1. Hundreds of young athletes are gathered at Des Moines, Iowa for one of the year's biggest youth track and field competitions. 

Things are starting to heat up now that the final races are in sight. Patricio Pardo, 12, was the first to break a record in this year’s meet in the 3000M race. Pardo ran a 9:33:67 in the boys 3000M race.

The AAU Jr Olympic 2023 Schedule sets the last finals to be on Saturday, Aug. 5 when the award ceremony will also occur.
