Movers And Shakers In Week 4 Of The Women's NCAA Division I XC Rankings

You win a meet like the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, and you earn your stripes.

That's one big reason why the Northern Arizona women have moved up to No. 1 in the country after the Lumberjacks clinched the women's title at Nuttycombe on Friday, taking down defending NCAA champions NC State.

On Tuesday, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association named NAU as its No. 1 team, followed by NC State, Georgetown, BYU and Stanford.

The Georgetown women, who finished third at Nuttycombe, moved up to No. 3, up eight spots from the last ranking. Oregon State, which finished seventh at Nuttycombe, moved to No. 9 in the country. BYU, which won Pre-Nats, moved from sixth to fourth. Arkansas, which was formerly 19th, slotted into the No. 11 spot.
