Sadie Sigfstead of Villanova Cross Country won the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Cross Country 2023 women's race. Here are the full men's and women's results.
Villanova Cross Country will be represented at the 2023 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship as Sadie Sigfstead won the the 2023 Mid-Atlantic Cross Country Regional on Nov. 10.
Sigfstead won the region with a time of 19 minutes and 35.5 seconds.

No women's cross country team has won more team titles than Villanova, which has nine, but the Wildcats as a team finished fifth in the region as Georgetown and Penn State finished first and second.
The Hoyas were led by the second- and third-place finishers Melissa Riggins and Kelsey Swenson. Overall, Georgetown had four runners finish in the top 10.
Princeton Cross Country Wins NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Cross Country 2023 Men's Race
Princeton Cross Country will head to Charlottesville, Virginia as the Tigers won the team race, beating Villanova despite the Wildcats having the first- and second-place finishers in the race.
Liam Murphy of Villanova is the Mid-Atlantic men's regional champion after winning the race with a time of 29 minutes and 5.5 seconds. He beat his teammate Haftu Struntzos by nearly 10 seconds.
Princeton was paced by five runners who finished in the top 12 of the race, including fourth-place finisher Nicholas Bendtsen.

How Do Teams, Runners Qualify For NCAA D1 Cross Country National Championship?
For men's and women's, the top two teams in each regional — there are nine in total — automatically qualify for the championships, which equates to 18 automatic qualifiers.
The NCAA DI Cross Country Subcommittee will then choose 13 at-large teams to fill out the 31 team field.
Individually, the first four finishers who do not belong to an automatic qualifier or an at-large team automatically advance to the championships. All four finishers have to finish in the top 25 within their region. Altogether, 36 individuals automatically qualify and two are chosen at-large, making 38 the grand total. The two at-large selections are the highest placing individuals at a regional that were not automatic qualifiers.
