Dina Asher-Smith of Great Britain will square off against Julien Alfred of St. Lucia and three other Olympic medalists in the women's 60m in one of the deepest fields assembled for the 116th Millrose Games on February 11 at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory.

Asher-Smith, the 2019 world champion in the 200m, is a two-time Olympic bronze medalist, and her 2019 gold is one of five World Championships medals that she owns, along with the British records in the 60m, 100m, and 200m.

Alfred is coming off a spectacular conclusion to her collegiate career at the University of Texas, where she won seven NCAA titles, set the collegiate record at 60m and earned the Bowerman Award as the top female athlete in the nation. In her first summer as a professional, Alfred finished fifth in the 100m at the World Championships.

Both Asher-Smith and Alfred now train together in Austin.

“The Millrose Games is one of the most prestigious and historic indoor competitions in the USA, and I am looking forward to racing there for the first time,” Asher-Smith said in a press release. “I am really enjoying my new training set up in Austin, and I’m looking forward to a big year in 2024.”

The rest of the field assembled for the race figures to provide those two with stiff competition.

Tamari Davis, the runner-up in this event at last year's Millrose Games, picked up a gold medal on the US 4x100m at Worlds last summer.

English Gardner, who ran for Eastern High School in Voorhees, NJ, owns the 10th fastest 100m time in history and won an Olympic gold medal on the US 4x100m at the 2016 Rio Games.

Briana Williams of Jamaica also has an Olympic 4x100m gold medal on her resume from the Tokyo Games.

Shashalee Forbes won an Olympic silver medal on Jamaica's 4x100m relay in 2016, and she won the 200m Jamaican championship in 2017.

Marybeth Sant-Price won bronze in the 60m at the 2022 World Indoor Championships.

Celera Barnes is an NACAC champion on the 4x100m relay.
