The Florida University Last Chance is part of an exciting weekend in Gainesville, Florida, and you don’t want to miss any of the action from the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe.
The 2024 edition Florida University Last Chance will bring an elite field of NCAA and NAIA collegiate athletes to Gainesville, where they’ll have one last opportunity to compete before it’s time for the conference and national championships.
They’ll also get to showcase their skills for many of Florida’s top young athletes, who will be in town for the Florida High School/Middle School Indoor Championships scheduled for Feb. 10.

Take this opportunity to watch some of the country’s top collegiate track & field stars compete in a variety of races and events.
Florida University Last Chance is a collegiate team invitational event that also welcomes individual athletes. The field is limited to 25 men’s teams and 25 women’s teams, however.

The field events include pole vault, high jump, long jump, weight throw, triple jump and shot put.
Running events include 60-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles and runs of 200, 400, 800, 1,600 (relay), mile, 5,000 meters and a distance medley relay.

The Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe celebrated its formal opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony in June 2023, and it quickly is becoming a premier destination for events and athletes from all over.
The $35 million facility utilized Alachua County’s tourism funds to provide a place for a multitude of sporting events, tournaments, conventions and other events to bring athletes, visitors and considerable economic impact to the area.
The complex spans more than 140,000 square feet, and the property includes 18 volleyball courts, 10 high school-regulation basketball courts, a cheer studio, six indoor batting cages, meeting space, performance center, kitchen, sports bar and the ability to seat 3,500 guests.
The World Athletics-compliant indoor track & field facility includes a 200-meter, six-lane track, sprint area, pole vault area, raised long jump and triple jump areas, a high jump, space for weight throwing and shot put and a five-lane warm-up area.
