The NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Pre-Nationals is as much a chance for fans to check out some top Division III talent, as it is an opportunity for the athletes and coaches to get familiar with the Virginia Beach Sports Center – and you don’t want to miss any of the action!

Pre-Nationals is an invitational event, set exactly one month before the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Championships. 

The invitational competition in 2024 will give teams the chance to visit Virginia Beach, Virginia, to get comfortable with the area and world-class venue, while getting one final tuneup before conference and national titles are on the line.

Some athletes will see the facility in Virginia Beach a second and third time, as it also will host the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships from Feb. 18-20. Participants will be Coppin State, Delaware State, Howard, Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State, Norfolk State, North Carolina Central and South Carolina State.

The 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Championships then will take place at the Virginia Beach Sports Center on March 8-9. The event will be hosted by Norfolk State University and Visit Virginia Beach.

Starting with the 2024 DIII Pre-Nationals, take the opportunity to watch some of the country’s top collegiate track & field stars compete in a variety of races and events.

About The Virginia Beach Sports Center

The Virginia Beach Sports Center opened in the fall of 2020 and quickly is becoming a top destination for premier events. 

The 285,000-square foot facility is located less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean and steps from the Virginia Beach Convention Center. 

The property includes 12 basketball courts, 24 volleyball courts and an indoor hydraulic track with seating for up to 5,000 guests. There’s plenty up space to meet, warm up and compete in comfort, with easy access to dining, shopping, entertainment and hotels.
