FloSports, the global sports media company headquartered in Austin, Texas, was recognized this week by the International Sports Press Association for its excellence in the Video Athlete Profile category during its annual AIPS Sports Media Awards. 

The international awards, which featured more than 1,800 submissions from 141 countries across 11 categories, were narrowed down from a series of review stages, including long list, short list, top 10 and top three voting stages. 

'Bob Beamon: The Legacy Beyond The Leap,' was named as a top three finalist in the Video Athlete Profile category. Chronicling the cross-section of the Civil rights movement with Beamon's then-World record in the long jump at the Olympics in Mexico City in 1968, the story reflects the New York native's past and present in the sport.

The feature was published during Black History Month in 2023 and was featured across the FloTrack and MileSplit channels.

FloSports has reached the top 10 in AIP's Sports Media Awards for Video Athlete Profile over the last two years, with previous recognitions being 'Allie Ostrander: Under Pressure, Gaining Your Life Back' and 'Caitlin Little: Fifteen Forever.' 

The overall winner of each category will receive $8,000 in prize money, while runner-ups will receive $3,000 and third-place finishers will net $2,000. 

FloSports was recognized in two other categories during its long list announcement. 

- 'Noor's Pursuit: A Young Muslim Woman's Fight For Equality,' a longform feature story published on MileSplit, was recognized for Best Colour Piece.

- 'San Elizario: Una Forma De Vida,' a longform feature documentary published on MileSplit, was recognized for Video Documentary.
