The fourth event of the 2024 Wanda Diamond League season will see elite track and field athletes from all over the world head back to Morocco, and while the culture will be familiar, the athletes will get to experience a new venue.

This year, the event will be held at the Grand Stade de Marrakech, which was designed to reflect the architecture of the city and opened in 2011. It can seat more than 45,000 fans.

Traditionally, the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme de Rabat is held at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, but the venue is under construction/renovation as part of the area’s preparation for its bid for the 2030 World Cup (soccer).

The first two stops of the 2024 season were held in China — Xiamen (April 20) and Shanghai/Suzhou (April 27) – and the circuit made a stop in Qatar on May 10.

The Diamond League Rabat/Marrakech 2024 will include seven men’s disciplines and seven women’s disciplines, as athletes continue collecting points toward the year’s final event in Belgium. 

The invitation-only Diamond League brings together the most elite track & field athletes to showcase their skills, earn prize money, collect points toward the season-ending championship event and ultimately elevate the status of athletics across the globe. 

Traditionally, Diamond League competition includes a slate of 16 disciplines, though not every meet features all of them. 

Points accumulated during the first 14 events of the season determine the athletes who advance to the final event, where they compete for more prize money and Diamond League titles.

When Is The Diamond League Rabat/Marrakech 2024?

The one-day Diamond League Rabat/Marrakech 2024 will take place May 19 at the Grand Stade de Marrakech in Marrakech, Morocco.

How To Watch The Diamond League Rabat/Marrakech 2024

For audiences in the United States, live coverage of the one-day event will be provided by Peacock, and the action will get underway at 2 p.m. Eastern. It is one of six Diamond League events this year being broadcast on the network.

FloTrack will provide results, editorial content and more and will do so for all Diamond League events in 2024.

Starting in 2025, which was announced April 10, FloTrack will be the streaming home of the Diamond League for audiences in the United States and its territories (with the exception of any events being held in the United States.

What Events Will Be Contested At The Diamond League Rabat/Marrakech 2024?

Men (7): Triple jump, discus, 100 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1,500 meters and 3,000-meter steeplechase

Women (7): High jump, shot put, pole vault, 200 meters, 800 meters, 5,000 meters and 400-meter hurdles.
