Diamond League Oslo 2024 / Bislett Games Schedule: What To Know
The Diamond League makes its first visit to Europe for the sixth meet of the 15-event 2024 season. Here’s how to follow the action from Oslo, Norway.
The sixth event of the 2024 Diamond League season brings the world’s best track and field athletes to Europe for the first time this season, and the anticipation is high for the 2024 edition of the Bislett Games.
Similar to last week’s stop in Eugene, Oregon, the Diamond League aspect of the competition is just a sub-tier of an established event with a long history and tradition.

The first edition of the Bislett Games was held in 1965 after the merger of three athletics associations. The event first was part of the Golden League, which later was rebranded as the Diamond League in 2010.
The host venue again in 2024 will be Bislett Olympic Stadium, which has a history of its own that dates back more than a century. The lore and tradition carried over to a more modern Bislett Stadium that opened in 2005 and has become Norway’s premier facility for track and field.
Since the 2024 Diamond League schedule kicked off April 20, the circuit has been to China (Xiamen, Shanghai), Qatar (Doha), Morocco (Marrakech) and Eugene, Oregon, which hosted the season-ending championship meet in 2023.
The events at the Bislett Games that will earn athletes points for the Diamond League include eight men’s disciplines and six women’s disciplines. All season, the athletes will continue collecting points toward the year’s final event in Belgium.
The invitation-only Diamond League brings together the most elite track & field athletes to showcase their skills, earn prize money, collect points toward the season-ending championship event and ultimately elevate the status of athletics across the globe.
Traditionally, Diamond League competition includes a slate of 16 disciplines, though not every meet features all of them.
Points accumulated during the first 14 events of the season determine the athletes who advance to the final event, where they compete for more prize money and Diamond League titles.
