The third day of the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., closed out the men's competition on June 7 with finals for all individual events and a conclusion to the team points race.

The team title came down to the 4x400m relay, where Florida took third, securing the third consecutive 2024 NCAA Track and Field Championships title for the Gators.

Parker Wolfe Wins First NCAA Title In Thrilling Finish Over Nico Young In Men's 5000m Final

North Carolina junior Parker Wolfe threw down a 54-second final lap and outpaced Northern Arizona's Nico Young and Stanford's Ky Robinson en route to his first NCAA title. 

Harvard junior Graham Blanks, the 2023 NCAA cross country champion who clawed back from injury this season, put the screws on the field with two laps to go as he was the first to begin pushing the pace, but ultimately faded to fifth. 

On his big move, Blanks later told the media, "Like a week or two ago, I was just kind of like, ‘F*** that. If I’m going to lose this race, I’m gonna lose on my own terms.’”

Romaine Beckford Earns Fourth High Jump Title, Stays Undefeated This Season

With a 2.26m / 7'5" effort, Romaine Beckford clinched the outdoor high jump title to follow up his indoor championship-winning performance, bringing his total Division I golds to four. In doing so, he also capped an undefeated collegiate season.

Cheickna Traore Wins Division I 200m Title One Year After Winning Division III Title 

Former Ramapo College sprint star Cheickna Traore won the NCAA Division I 200m title for Penn State just one year after winning the Division III title as he blazed to a 19.95 finish at Hayward Field. That's also the eighth-fastest time in the world this year.

Caleb Dean Runs Second-Fastest Collegiate 400m Hurdles Ever

Texas Tech's Caleb Dean threw down a historic performance in the men's 400m hurdles, recording the second-fastest time ever by a collegiate athlete. 

His 47.23 PR is also the fourth-fastest time in the world this year.

Shane Cohen Swings Wide To Clinch Men's 800m Victory, Race Under Review

Virginia's Shane Cohen managed to avoid traffic throughout an eventful men's 800m final to finish first in 1:44.97, but official results have yet to clear the protest process. With 100m to go, Camden Marshall of Indiana went down hard; that part of the race is under review.

Christopher Morales Williams Wins NCAA Outdoor 400m Title 

Georgia's Christopher Morales Williams won the outdoor 400m NCAA title to complement his indoor title from earlier this year, running 44.47 for the win. 

The 19-year-old Canadian ran an unofficial world indoor record (44.49) in his signature event in February.

Joe Waskom Kicks Down Everyone On The Homestretch For The Men's NCAA Outdoor 1500m Title

Auburn Clocks Third-Fastest Collegiate Men's 4x100m Relay Time In History

The Auburn men ran 38.03, the third-fastest time in collegiate history, en route to claiming the men's 4x100m title amid a dramatic final that saw multiple teams disqualified. 

That time sits behind only collegiate record-holder LSU (37.90) and Florida (37.93); both of those marks were set last year.

Where Is The NCAA Track And Field Championships? It's Going To Be At Hayward Field

Last year, the 2023 NCAA Track and Field Championships were held in Austin, Texas, but it won't be back there any time soon. 

For now, the home of the biggest outdoor college track and field meet in the sport lives in Eugene. Hayward Field will be hosting the meet every year until 2027.

This is the 15th time Eugene, or "Track Town, USA" as it's called, has hosted the meet.
