Luke Houser Announced As The Newest Member Of The Brooks Beasts
The Brooks Beasts Track Club are signing a two-time NCAA indoor champion in the mile and a proven runner at the 1,500m distance
The next progression in Luke Houser's career will take shape on Wednesday.
The University of Washington graduate and two-time NCAA indoor champion in the mile is signing with the Brooks Beasts, the Seattle-based track club which calls home for World 1,500m champion Josh Kerr, U.S. 800m champion Nia Akins and a wide array of middle-distance star power.
Houser will find the setting appropriate.
The Washington native grew up just outside of Seattle in Woodinville and spent the last four years with the Huskies, where he's become a lethal middle-distance runner who's won two national indoor titles and qualified for three outdoor NCAA Outdoor finals in the 1,500m, finishing as high as fifth in the 2022 race.

What To Know About Luke
Houser's resume is doubly impressive, too, with personal bests of 3:37.51 in the 1,500m and 3:51.73 in the mile, to go along with an 800m best of 1:49.75, a 3K mark of 7:40.40 and a 5K outdoor best of 13:43.33. He's also registered bests of 3:38.06 and 3:52.87 indoors in the 1,500m and mile distances.
He will compete at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the men's 1,500m.
Houser became a star at Washington alongside an illustrious trio of Joe Waskom and Nathan Green, though what stood out between the distance teammates -- and moreover, that Washington distance corps -- was their ability to develop and progress together. Houser took off 26 seconds from his high school PR in the full mile.
Houser Joins A Team With A Strong Culture
Houser will join a professional outlet which operates much like Washington, helmed by head coach Danny Mackay and assistant coach Julian Florez.
"We're thrilled to welcome Luke to the Brooks Beasts," said Derek Lactaoen, the track club's marketing manager. "Luke is a proven champion who contributes depth to our miler squad and experience training and competing as a team."
Houser added of his signing: "I am very excited to be starting my next chapter with the Brooks Beasts. This is a team that is driven to be the best, which is what I want for my career."
