Sunday marked the end of the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon and jumpstarted the road to Paris for those qualified. 

A host of meet records, including a world record over the final event of the Trials, highlighted what was one of the most star-packed championships of the season. 

Making the U.S. team? As any athlete will tell you, it's the most competitive spot in the world.

While the top three athletes in each discipline earned provisional spots on the U.S. roster, there are also certain cases where athletes may not go to Paris. 

For those who don't own an Olympic standard or are not within the requisite world ranking quota, their spots are not guaranteed. 

The final roster for Team USA won't become official until July 8, including relay pools.

The Olympics begin on July 26 and end on August 11. The track and field events will begin on Aug. 1.
