Touted as the “World’s Biggest One-Day Athletics Meet,” the London Athletics Meet returns in 2024 as the 10th event of the 2024 Wanda Diamond League season.

It comes a week after the circuit’s stop in Monaco and will be the final event before another month-long hiatus, this time for the 2024 Summer Olympics, which will be held in Paris from July 26 through Aug. 11. The track and field events will be held Aug. 1-11. 

The London Athletics Meet/Diamond League London 2024 will take place at London Stadium, which was built to host the 2012 Summer Olympics. This year’s London Athletics Meet will be held July 20.

The first two stops of the 2024 Diamond League season were held in China – Xiamen (April 20) and Shanghai/Suzhou (April 27). The circuit then visited Qatar (May 10), Morocco (May 19), Eugene, Oregon (May 25), Oslo, Norway (May 30), Stockholm (June 2), Paris (July 7) and Monaco (July 12).

The London Athletics Meet/Diamond League London 2024 will include seven men’s disciplines and seven women’s disciplines, as athletes continue collecting points toward the year’s final event in Belgium. The meet also will feature a Universal 4x100 Mixed Relay.

The invitation-only Diamond League brings together the most elite track & field athletes to showcase their skills, earn prize money, collect points toward the season-ending championship event and ultimately elevate the status of athletics across the globe. 

Traditionally, Diamond League competition includes a slate of 16 disciplines, though not every meet features all of them. 

Points accumulated during the first 14 events of the season determine the athletes who advance to the final event, where they compete for more prize money and Diamond League titles.

When Is The Diamond League London (London Athletics Meet) 2024?

The one-day Diamond League London/London Athletics Meet 2024 will take place July 20 at London Stadium in London.

London Stadium now is home to Premier League football’s West Ham United and UK Athletics, but the venue also hosts other top-tier sporting events (rugby, soccer, etc.), as well as concerts and other similar events.

The stadium can fit 60,000 fans for soccer matches or 80,000 guests for concerts and shows.

How To Watch The Diamond League London (London Athletics Meet) 2024

For audiences in the United States, live coverage of the one-day event will be provided by Peacock and CNBC, and the action will get underway at 9 a.m. Eastern. It is one of the many Diamond League events being broadcast this year on Peacock and/or NBC or one of the other related networks.

Starting in 2025, which was announced April 10, FloTrack will be the streaming home of the Diamond League for audiences in the United States and its territories (with the exception of any events being held in the United States.

What Events Will Be Contested At The Diamond League London (London Athletics Meet) 2024?

Though there will be many events that are part of the London Athletics Meet 2024, only some will count toward this year’s Diamond League points.

Men (7): shot put, high jump, 400-meter hurdles, 100 meters, 400 meters, Emsley Carr Mile, 3,000 meters

Women (7): javelin, pole vault, 400-meter hurdles, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, long jump
