While the track and field world will be closely watching the action in Paris as the 2024 Olympic Games begin on July 26, with track and field starting on Aug. 1, many of the brightest youth American track stars will be competing in their own Olympic games. 

The 2024 AAU Junior Olympics Track and Field competition showcases young athletes from across the United States. Held annually, the event features a range of track and field events, from sprints to long-distance races, as well as field events.

Athletes, aged 8 to 18, compete for national titles and the chance to shine on a larger stage.

This year’s event begins on July 24 with track and field competitions running from July 27 through Aug. 3.

The AAU Junior Olympics, or “JOs” are in Greensboro, N.C. this year. The track and field events are on the campus of North Carolina A&T University.
