For the third time this summer, Bullis School (MD) phenom Quincy Wilson lowered both the World U18 and high school national record over 400 meters, clocking a time of 44.20 seconds at the Holloway Pro Classic on Friday on the Pearcy Beard Track at the University of Florida.

Wilson, a recently-announced Olympian and member of the U.S. 4x400 relay pool, executed on all fronts and went to the line with fellow Olympian Bryce Deadmon, who finished in 44.23 seconds.

Wilson continued his assault on the World U18 record on Friday, lowering his former best of 44.59 seconds, which came in June at the U.S. Olympic Trials. Wilson has now downed the former high school national record three times over the last 60 days, pushing the former mark of 44.69 down to 44.66, 44.59 and now 44.20.

Matthew Boling was third in 44.84 seconds, while Jacory Patterson was fourth in 45.02.

Wilson's result now puts him at No. 6 in the world this year -- even ahead of U.S. star Michael Norman, who has run a best of 44.21 in 2024.  Wilson is the second-fastest American behind world leader and American champion Quincy Hall.

The Bullis School sophomore and soon-to-be high school junior also moved all the way up to No. 2 on the world all-time U20 leaderboard, sitting behind American Steve Lewis, who ran 43.87 back at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea.

With his string of stellar performances over the course of the outdoor season, Wilson may have moved himself up the pecking order of the U.S. 400m contingent. The one question remaining heading into the Paris Olympics? Will Wilson feature on the mixed 4x400, or could he be selected for the the men's 4x400?
