The 2024 Paris Olympic Games has not disappointed, with the best in swimming, gymnastics and more already showing off their skills across Paris and the neighboring areas. 

The track and field competition began Aug. 1 and will end Aug. 11. This is one of the most anticipated segments of the Olympics. The track and field events in 2024 are being held in and around Stade de France in Paris. 

The opening day of the track and field events only included the men’s and women’s 20-kilometer race walk, with gold medals going to China (women) and Ecuador (men), but Day 2 at Stade de France will offer a full slate of events.

Among those stepping into the spotlight Friday will be American speedster Sha'Carri Richardson, who recently won a pair of world championships and now is in search of her first Olympic medal. 

The preliminary rounds of the women's 100 meters will take place Friday, with the final set for Saturday at 3:20 p.m. Eastern.

Another highly anticipated event scheduled to kick off Friday is the mixed 4x400 relay, which had the potential to be the Olympic debut of teen sensation Quincy Wilson, a 16-year star from Maryland. 

Though Wilson was not selected to run for the United States in the opening round, he could be substituted in later or compete in the men's 4x400.

Richardson won the women's 100-meter race at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials with a time of 10.71. She was followed by Melissa Jefferson (10.80) and Twanisha Terry (10.89).

The Olympics are on the NBC family of networks, including the Peacock streaming app. 

All track and field events will be broadcast live on Peacock, but additional coverage will be provided as follows (all times Eastern):

• 4 a.m.: Heats - Women's 100m & More (E!)
• 10 a.m.: NBC Daytime - Preliminary Heats (Men's 1,500m, Women's 100m, Decathlon) (NBC)
• Noon: Finals - Men's 10,000m & More (E!)
