The multitude of events were held in and around Stade de France in Paris from Aug. 1-Aug. 11.

Every competition had its favorites, and fans around the world tuned in at all hours to see how it all was going to shake out.

Search bars were being populated with names such as Sha'carri Richardson, Noah Lyles, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Sherika Jackson, Quincy Wilson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Armand Mondo Duplantis, Sifan Hassan and many more.

Here's a look at every 2024 Olympic track and field athlete by country.

See how each country stacked up in Paris:

How Did Team USA Do At The 2024 Summer Olympics?

Through 11 days of track and field activity at the 2024 Olympic Games, the United States topped the track and field medal table with 34 medals - 14 gold, 11 silver and nine bronze. It was the most track and field medals for Team USA since the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles and the first time in history the United States swept the hurdle events.

The first gold went to Ryan Crouser, who claimed his third consecutive Olympic gold medal in the men's shot put, while Noah Lyles ended the Aug. 4 action by beating Jamaica's Kishane Thompson by .005 seconds for the gold in the men's 100m.

Valarie Allman added Team USA's third gold medal with a win in the women's discus Aug. 5. It was her second consecutive victory in the event, this time with toss of 69.50 meters. She became the fourth woman in history to win two Olympic gold medals in discus and second to do it in back-to-back Olympics.

On Aug. 6, Team USA picked up a pair of medals in the men's 1,500 and then the women's 200, winning gold and bronze in both.

In the men's 1,500, Cole Hocker stunned the favorites - Jakob Ingerbrigtsen and Josh Kerr - to take the gold medal with an Olympic-record 3:27.65 finish. It nearly was an American record, too.

While Kerr nabbed the silver, American Yared Nuguse finished strong to take the bronze, denying defending champion Ingerbrigtsen a spot on the podium.

The women's 200 closed the action for the day in Paris, with Gabby Thomas cruising into the top spot with a 21.83 effort. St. Lucia's Julien Alfred, who was trying to win the coveted 100-200 double, settled for the silver (22.08). Team USA's Brittany Brown took the bronze (22.20).

In the men's 400 on Aug. 7, Quincy Hall went from gassed to gold, using the final 100 meters to surge from fourth place to the coveted title.

The golds for Team USA on Aug. 8 came from Grant Holloway in the men's 110-meter hurdles, Sydney McLauglin-Levrone in the women's 400-meter hurdles and Tara Davis-Woodhall in the women's long jump.

Team USA shined in Paris on Aug. 9, making statement wins in the women's 4x100 and the men's 400-meter hurdles. The day included redemption wins for Richardson, who just missed the gold in the women's 100, along with Rai Benjamin, who took silver in the 400-meter hurdles in Tokyo.

Richardson was joined in the relay win by Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry and Thomas.

The final full day of track and field competition Aug. 10 brought Team USA three more gold medals - women's 100-meter hurdles (Masai Russell) and both 4x400 relays. The men won the 4x400 for the third consecutive time, while women continued their dominance, winning for the eighth consecutive time. This year, the women were just shy of a world record.

Two of the early silver medals for Team USA came in what likely would be considered huge upsets.

First, a jaw-dropping final leg helped the Netherlands past Team USA in the 4x400 mixed relay. The other came from Alfred, who outlasted slow-starting favorite Richardson in the women's 100m.

Sam Kendricks' silver medal in the men's pole vault saw him finish behind superstar Armand Duplantis and his world-record leap of 6.25 meters. Kendricks managed 5.95.

Team USA's other silver medals came from:

  • Joe Kovacs, who jumped from fourth to second on his final throw to claim his third Olympic silver medal
  • Annette Echikunwoke in the women's hammer throw
  • Defending champion Katie Moon in the women's pole vault
  • Kenneth Rooks in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, where he improved his personal best time from 8:15.08 to 8:06.41
  • Kenny Bednarek in the men's 200 meters
  • Daniel Roberts in the men's 110-meter hurdles
  • Anna Cockrell in the women's 400-meter hurdles
  • Shelby McEwen in the men's high jump

The bronze medals for the United States came in the women's 100m (Jefferson), women's triple jump (Jasmine Moore), men's 10,000m (Grant Fisher), men's 100m (Fred Kerley), men's 1,500 (Nuguse), women's 200 (Brown), men's 200 (Lyles), women's long jump (Moore) and the men's 5,000 (Fisher).
