An American man won the 1,500 meter final for the first time since 2016 on Tuesday at the Paris Olympics, while an American woman snatched away the 200m gold medal, earning the first of her career.

Naturally, it was a good day to be Cole Hocker and Gabby Thomas.

But that wasn't all. An array of top results and big moments took place across the morning and evening sessions at Stade de France and Olympians found time to chat with FloTrack's Bryan Deibel and other reporters following their performances.

Check out the top quotes and moments from Tuesday's mixed zone below.

Cole Hocker On His Incredible Olympic Win In The 1,500m:

"I think everyone was ready for a fast race in this era of the 1,500m. But the first 400m was still jarring, to say the least. And I was like, 'Oh, we're going to have to run today. Like, there's no messing around."

"I told myself, 'I did this in Budapest last year, where I was uncomfortable and I, for a lack of better words, I was soft and I didn't go with it. And I told myself, 'Don't be soft. You got to go with it or you're going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don't go with it.' And I'm so glad I told myself that. I was like, 'I'm going to hate myself if I don't close this immediately,' because those guys won't give you an inch."

Brittany Brown On What Got Her To The Line, And How Her Support System Created A Culture Of Positivity:

"It's just been a community of people that I have around me that just made me feel fearless out there. And I'm just grateful. This one is for my team, people all who believe in me, who doubt me, people who never say my name. I just want people to know that when you say my name, you're not just saying my name, you're the people's name that support me."

Josh Kerr Describes The 1,500m Final And More On The State Of The Distance:

"At that pace, you have no energy to look around and kind of feel what's going on. It was electric in there, and so it's difficult to tell who's around. But I could feel people were still around it, so I knew I had to deal with the last 50 meters that could keep me in medal contention."

"We're in a distance that's inspiring a lot of people right now. I want a little bit more. And I think it's the healthiest the 15(00) has looked for a very long time, and that's what's doing it. Creating individual battles, I have a lot of respect for guys that can go out and put performances down together on the Olympic Games day."

Gabby Thomas On What It Means To Win Gold:

"I've envisioned this race over and over in my head so many times, as I do with every race and that's how I win races. But I did not expect to feel how I felt when I crossed that line. You prepare for this moment and you train so hard for this moment and when it actually comes, it's indescribable, and I couldn't believe it. I never would have imagined in my wildest dreams that I would become an Olympic gold medalist, and I am one."

Yared Nuguse On The Pace Of The 1,500m And More On His Intro:

"I think that both of us were just like, you know, thinking we could win this because I feel like if you don't think you can win, then you're not really going to be in contention for a medal. So I think that we were both kind of going for that win."

"I just was just kind of want to do a cool thing for my little intro because when I saw they were doing and I was like, 'OK, this is like my moment,' so yeah."

Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith On Her Change In Structure Training In Austin, Texas:

"I've just been having a lot of fun. It's been an amazing setup. I train in the bright sunshine of Austin, Texas, so I'm used to the hot days. And I think I've just been focused on just having a lot of fun. I think he (Edrick Floréal), brings a different perspective as to what I can do and waht I can achieve, which has been really exciting."

McKenzie Long On What She Learned From Gabby Thomas Before The Final:

"She was really encouraging. She was just like, 'Go out there and have fun.' She told me about her Tokyo experience, how she said she didn't win any other rounds until the last round she medaled. So she was just telling me, 'Just believe myself, go out there, have fun,' and you know, I have. She was really empowering for me."

Jakob Ingebrigtsen On His Tactical Takeaway From His Fourth-Place Finish In The 1,500m:

"No, and yes. It's, of course it's a tactical error that I'm not able to, you know, reduce my pace the first 800m. It's just a little too hard. I think I saw on the backstraight with probably 650m to go that they were opening up a little bit of a gap. I tried to respond with going a little too much on the gas. It was 100 meters too much."

Kirani James On How He Feels Going Into The 400m Final:

"We'll see. I mean, anything is possible. I just know it's gonna be highly, highly competitive."

Udodi Onwuzurike On His Outlook In The Men's 200m Semifinal:

"Go out there and put myself in the final. Regardless of whatever time I put on the track, I know what I'm capable of, so that's kind of how I view it."

Tara Davis On Why She Keeps Things Loose:

"When I say I have fun, I don't think about anything else besides having fun. Looking in the crowd, seeing who's there, look at all the little girls in the crowd that are just, like, inspired by maybe just me or the other girls in the field, and I just go out there and I just like, I've done everything I could do to get to this moment. So everything is just autopilot."

Kendall Ellis On What She Changed After Her First Round:

"I put a lot of pressure on myself yesterday because I haven't advanced to the semifinals since Doha 2019. And I haven't done it in any other championship I've been in and I put a lot of pressure on myself and just what people think of me and I wish that was running it like a final with the intensity of a final and the tensions and that wasn't good. You could see my body, I was really tense from start to finish and it's difficult to run a 400m when you're that tight and today was just going free. There's no expectation, there's no pressure. We just run and I run my best when I'm able to just be me."

New Zealand's Maia Ramsden On Her Chance Of Putting Down A PR In The 1,500m

"I think I'm ready. I've put some really good work the last couple of weeks, and so I've really love to lower that time."

Nikki Hiltz On What It's Been Like To Live In The Olympic Village:

"I have Courtney Wayment, she's a good friend and a roommate. It's a crazy experience. There's a dining hall and then you see volleyball players and swimmers. I saw Simone and I was freaking out. It's just fun. There's cardboard beds, but you know, Team USA takes really good care of us. We have mattress toppers and AC units. Leah, she's a steeplechaser for Germany, she's like, 'How do I get a mattress topper?'"
