Faith Kipyegon Becomes First To Three Olympic Wins In 1,500m
The legendary Kenyan, second in the 5K earlier in the week, won her third straight 1,500m Olympic title on Saturday in Paris.
An Olympic record and a third-Olympic title?
What can't Faith Kipyegon do?
On Saturday, the Kenyan secured her third Olympic title over 12 years, this time inside Stade de France as she won the women's 1,500m in a new record of 3:51.29 to hold off Australia's Jessica Hull and Great Britain's Georgia Bell, who followed in 3:52.26 and 3:52.61, respectively.
The gold was Kipyegon's second overall medal in Paris following her runner-up finish in the 5K on Aug. 5.

Kipyegon won her first Olympic title in 2016 in 4:08.92, then followed in 2021 in Tokyo, chopping off 15 seconds to secure her second in 3:53.11.
In July, Kipyegon re-set her own world record at the distance, clocking a time of 3:49.04 in Paris at the Diamond League.
Impressive Performances Down The Stretch
The only woman capable of containing her?
That was Australia's Jessica Hull.
And after getting boxed in over the final lap, Hull fought herself out and then hit it hard down the final straight to finish second in 3:52.56, producing her country's first medal in the 1,500m in history.
Great Britain's Georgia Bell recorded a rather miraculous finish, too, surpassing the former national record held by Laura Muir to become the fastest woman in the UK's history.
Muir was fifth overall.
The American's fell to seventh and eighth, respectively, with Nikki Hiltz and Elle St. Pierre finishing in 3:56.38 and 3:57.52.
