Days after the conclusion of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the world’s top track and field athletes will be back in action. Fittingly, the return of the Wanda Diamond League to the spotlight will come in Lausanne, Switzerland, home of the International Olympic Committee.

From Aug. 1-Aug. 11, the highly anticipated track and field segment of the Olympics took over the famed Stade de France, and the athletes did not disappoint, turning in records, dramatic moments, upsets and countless memories.

Many of the athletes who shined in Paris will be present in Lausanne, hoping to continue their momentum. At the same time, others will be looking for redemption after falling short at the Olympics. 

The 2024 edition of Athletissima/Diamond League Lausanne will take place at the Pontaise Olympic Stadium. Athletes and fans alike will get to enjoy scenic Lausanne, also known as the Olympic Capital, where they’ll be surrounded by Olympic history.

Unlike the first 10 events of the 2024 Diamond League season, competition at Athletissima will take place over two days – Aug. 21-22.

Athletissima/Diamond League Lausanne 2024 will include 14 events that will count toward Diamond League points – seven men’s disciplines and seven women’s disciplines, as athletes continue collecting points toward the year’s final event in Belgium. The meet also will feature a women’s 4x100 relay and a variety of events that won’t count for points. 

When Is The Diamond League Lausanne/Athletissima 2024?

The two-day Athletissima/Diamond League Lausanne 2024 will take place Aug. 21-22 at the Pontaise Olympic Stadium in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The multi-purpose venue primarily is used for soccer and serves as the home of FC Stade Lausanne Ouchy, which plays in the Swiss Super League. 

The stadium opened in 1954, with renovations coming in 1985 and 1994, and it has room for nearly 16,000 fans.

How To Watch The Diamond League Lausanne/Athletissima 2024

For audiences in the United States, live coverage of the two-day event will be provided by Peacock, and the televised portion of the action will get underway Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. Eastern. It is one of the many Diamond League events being broadcast this year on Peacock and/or NBC or one of the other related networks.

Starting in 2025, which was announced April 10, FloTrack will be the streaming home of the Diamond League for audiences in the United States and its territories (with the exception of any events being held in the United States.

What Events Will Be Contested At The Diamond League Lausanne/Athletissima 2024?

Though there will be many events that are part of the Athletissima 2024, the 49th edition of the event, only some will count toward this year’s Diamond League points.

Men (7): 110-meter hurdles, 200 meters, 400 meters, long jump, 1,500 meters, javelin, pole vault

Women (7): 100 meters, 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter hurdles, 800 meters, 3,000 meters, shot put, high jump
