Reigning NCAA cross country champion Graham Blanks is opening the fall season ranked at No. 1.

In FloTrack's debut College XC Rankings presented by HOKA -- compiled by a proprietary computer model which predicts the full NCAA Championship finishing order -- released Thursday along with NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III rankings, the Harvard runner opens with the position following his win last November in Charlottesville.

Blanks, a top 10 finisher at 5,000 meters at the Paris Olympics in August, secured a victory at Panorama Farms with a time of 28:37.7 last November, culminating a season that saw him win five straight races.

New Mexico sophomore Habtom Samuel, the NCAA runner-up in 2023, follows at No. 2, while Oklahoma State sophomore Denis Kipngetich is third and 28-year-old Texas Tech freshman Solomon Kipchoge will debut at No. 4.

Arkansas' Patrick Kiprop, sixth at NCAAs last year, is fifth to open the season, while Eastern Kentucky's Justine Kipkoech is sixth, Oklahoma State's Brian Musau is seventh, Oklahoma State's Ryan Schoppe is eighth, North Carolina's Parker Wolfe is ninth and Texas Tech's Ernest Cheruiyot is 10th.

Oklahoma State has three members of its 2024 season ranked inside the top 10.
