Diamond League Announces Prize Money Increase For 2025
The Wanda Diamond League reveals a significant increase to their prize money allocation for 2025.
On Wednesday, the Wanda Diamond League announced that it will increase the prize money pot for the 2025 season to the highest it's ever been in the circuit's history.
In a decision made by the Diamond League General Assembly on Sunday, the league will award a total of $9,240,000 over the course of 15-meeting season in 2025.
That's the most amount of prize money awarded by the Diamond League since it began back in 2010.

$500,000 will be paid out at each of the 14 regular season meetings, and $2,240,000 will be distributed at the Diamond League final. That breaks down to between $30,000 and $50,000 awarded to each discipline at each meeting and between $60,000 and $100,000 per discipline for the final, according to a press release.
All 32 track and field disciplines contested on the Diamond League circuit will see an increase in prize pots, and male and female athletes will continue to earn an equal rate.
When including promotional fees, the Diamond League said athletes will make a total of $18 million over the course of next season, and the league will also invest in athlete services including travel, transport, accommodation and medical.
This marks a significant increase for the Diamond League, now entering its 16th season. In 2024, Diamond League regular season winners would earn $10,000, and Diamond League final winners would collect $30,000.
The 2024 Diamond League season concluded last weekend in Brussels.
