After a few lackluster weeks of racing, September's final weekend finally gave national contenders the opportunity to make their long-awaited debuts.

Whether they officially opened up their seasons at the Nuttycombe Invitational, Cowboy Jamboree, Gans Creek Classic, or even the Chile Pepper XC Festival, they brought their 'A Game' and caused a lot of changes throughout the FloTrack College XC Rankings presented by HOKA.

In his first collegiate race since winning the NCAA 5000m title in June, North Carolina superstar Parker Wolfe made his long-awaited season debut. Wolfe, who had a busy summer that saw him finish third at the U.S. Olympic Trials, came back with a vengeance.

Wolfe out-lasted a field loaded with All-Americans, running his way to a new 8k course record of 23:04. The Tar Heel senior came just seven seconds shy of notching a new lifetime best, but ultimately settled for the fourth-fastest time of his career.

Wolfe's statement win propelled him all the way up to No. 2 in the latest batch of FloTrack College XC Rankings presented by HOKA, a whopping nine spots ahead of where he was ranked a few weeks ago.

In Wisconsin, Wake Forest sophomore Rocky Hansen and Villanova senior Liam Murphy rounded out the top three finishers, clocking 23:06 and 23:08, respectively. The pair moved up to No. 21 and No. 22 in the latest set of rankings, both moving up over 100 places.

Other movers from the weekend included Oklahoma State's Brian Musau, who took down NCAA 10k champion Habtom Samuel of New Mexico en route to the No. 3 spot. The pair clashed on Musau's home turf at the Cowboy Jamboree, where the All-American ran 22:55 to Samuel's 23:03.

Samuel fell back to No. 4, while Oklahoma State's Denis Kipngetich filled out the top five.

On the team side of things, Oklahoma State held firm at No. 1 following their dominant win over New Mexico.

Arkansas, BYU, Northern Arizona, and Iowa State all maintained the same order in the top five, while Wake Forest jumped from No. 17 to No. 6 after taking third at Nuttycombe.

While the men saw a lot of movement in the latest set of rankings, the women saw minimal changes at the top.

Alabama's Doris Lemngole, Florida's Hilda Olemomoi, and Georgetown's Chloe Scrimgeour kept their place at No. 1, No. 2, and, No. 3, while Oregon's Silan Ayyildiz and Arkansas' Sydney Thorvaldson took the No. 4 and No. 5.

The biggest movers of the weekend were undoubtedly Sadie Sigfstead of Villanova, as well as Penn State's Florence Caron, Providence's Kimberley May, New Mexico's Pamela Kosgei, and Washington's Maeve Stiles

Sigfstead may have not had as big of a jump as the other four women, but she easily had the biggest performance of the weekend. The 'Nova senior took down anybody and everybody at Nuttycombe, breaking the tape in 19:55 for 6k.

Caron, May, and Stiles finished second, fifth, and eighth, prompting their moves into the top-25. Kosgei won her collegiate debut at the Cowboy Jamboree, running 19:50 as she took down a strong field.

Doing so in dominant fashion, both Northern Arizona and Washington took care of their respective business at the Dave Murray Invitational and Nuttycombe, as the Lumberjacks and Huskies didn't move an inch while maintaining their No. 1 and No. 2 ranking.

After finishing third at Nuttycombe without Chloe Scrimgeour, the Georgetown Hoyas moved up ten spots to No. 3, establishing themselves as podium threats come November.

Defending champions NC State and Oregon come in at No. 4 and No. 5.

Other notable movers include Providence, Florida, and Wisconsin, who all find themselves in the top-10 for the first time this season. The trio of teams sit No. 6, No. 9, and No. 10 after big performances at Nuttycombe and the Gans Creek Classic.
