Six-time NCAA champion and U.S. Olympian Parker Valby has signed a professional contract with New Balance, as announced on Thursday morning by the shoe and apparel brand.

Valby, who earned NCAA titles across the indoor, outdoor and cross country seasons while at the University of Florida, has moved from Gainesville to Boston and will train with Team New Balance Boston under coach Mark Coogan.

She'll join the likes of top U.S. distance athletes Elle St. Pierre, Emily Mackay and Heather McClean as a part of New Balance Boston.

Valby had quite the historic collegiate campaign in her final competition year with the Gators, winning the 2023 NCAA cross country title, 2024 NCAA indoor 3,000m and 5,000m titles and a pair of titles in the 5,000m and 10,000m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June.

Valby also set collegiate records in the 5,000m (14:52.18) and 10,000m (30:50.43).

The success for Valby carried on through the summer as she took fourth in the 5,000m and second in the 10,000m at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, and she would go on to finish 11th at the Paris Olympics at the 10,000m distance in 30:59.28.

Prior to her senior year at Florida, Valby signed a NIL deal with Nike, but made the switch to New Balance heading into her first post-collegiate year.

While many collegians making the transition to professional running may sign with brands and teams earlier on in the summer months, Valby, represented by her father Kyle Valby, engaged in negotiations with brands up into the fall, according to reports.
