Marathon fans are in for a treat as the annual New York City Marathon takes place on November 3rd, featuring an illustrious field packed with world-class athletes. Leading the men’s and women’s fields are defending champions Tamirat Tola and Hellen Obiri, who are both poised to defend their titles.

Tamirat Tola, after his victory at last year’s NYC Marathon, went on to claim the gold medal at the Paris Olympics in record-breaking fashion with a time of 2:06:26.

On the women’s side, Hellen Obiri is looking to defend her NYC Marathon title after a historic season that saw her win both the New York and Boston Marathons—becoming the first woman to do so in 34 years.

Joining them in the men’s race is Olympic silver medalist Bashir Abdi of Belgium, along with the winners of the past three NYC Marathons: Evans Chebet (2022), Albert Korir (2021), and Geoffrey Kamworor (2019), all representing Kenya.

For the U.S., Connor Mantz and Clayton Young headline the men’s field with the fastest personal bests among American runners, clocking 2:07:47 and 2:08:00, respectively.
