FloTrack Hires Demitra Carter In Lead Up To Wanda Diamond League Debut

Austin, TX (October 30, 2024) - FloSports continues to expand its FloTrack content team in preparation for its Wanda Diamond League debut in 2025 with the hiring of Demitra Carter. Carter will join FloTrack from On where she has served as the Global Social Media Manager, managing running-specific content for On social media platforms.

A sought-after Track & Field freelance content creator and on-camera talent, Carter has helped elevate digital content for many leading brands, athletes, and events in the sport. Before On, Carter served as a Digital Media Assistant for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. Since May, Carter has also showcased her work as part of the World Athletics Content Creator Programme, contributing regularly to World Athletics social media content.

Carter ran track at Baylor University and holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from the university.

Carter’s first day with FloSports will be November 18, and she’ll put her talents on display immediately, contributing to FloTrack’s recently announced partnership with The Running Event (TRE) conference on November 20-21.

“We’re very excited to welcome Demitra to the team as her talent and deep industry experience will provide fans a closer connection to the action and stories within our sport, both on and off the track,” said FloTrack General Manager Ryan Fenton. “Our mission is to grow the interest and excitement in track & field in the U.S. with insightful, engaging, and relevant content, and the addition of Demitra is direct investment in that mission.”

The addition of Carter comes on the heels of three additional FloTrack new hires announced earlier this month, Johnny Pace, a top content creator with past experience working with leading brands, including Brooks, Nike, On and adidas, Nia Gibson, previously an Assistant Editor of Audience Engagement at ESPN, and John Davern, an editor for FloSports’ MileSplit.

The staffing comes in advance of FloTrack’s upcoming coverage of the Wanda Diamond League—the crown jewel of Track & Field, which hosts 15 of the best athletics meetings in the world with men and women competing in 16 of the sport’s primary disciplines.

FloTrack is the voice of the Track & Field community, offering exclusive content and robust editorial coverage at the professional, collegiate, and elite high school levels. Powered by its acquisition of the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS), the official home of NCAA track and field rankings and statistics, FloTrack provides an unrivaled depth of coverage for the nation’s top track and field events. In combination with FloSports’ MileSplit, the largest high school running network in the U.S., FloSports streams more than 500 track and field, cross country, and road racing events annually.
