4 NCAA Sprinters On Our Watch List in 2025
4 NCAA Sprinters On Our Watch List in 2025
Tennessee's Jacious Sears and Oregon's Jadyn Mays are two of the many sprinters to look out for this upcoming collegiate track season.
In case you missed it last weekend, the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University was one of the many meets around the country that got the indoor season off and running.
While the main headlines from last weekend were primarily distance-based, there are a lot of world-class sprinters that you'll need to know about before we shift gears next month.

1 - Jacious Sears (Tennessee)
There are a lot of names to keep an eye on over the course of the track season, and Tennessee's golden girl is back atop the list. Earlier this year, Sears was absolutely lethal. She added a third SEC title to her ever-growing list of accolades, and topped that off with a national title in the 60m in March. On the outdoor oval, Sears was one of the fastest women in the world.
The junior clocked a wind-legal 10.77 at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational, which would go on to be the third-fastest time in the world, only behind the gold and silver medalists from Paris 2024. With the World Championships slated for September 2025, expect Sears to be in contention for one of the spots on Team USA.
2 & 3 - Tarsis Orogot & Samuel Ogazi (Alabama)
While a good chunk of All-Americans opted for the professional circuit, this Crimson Tide duo is still in the hunt for some NCAA hardware come championship season.
While Orogot is more of a short-sprint specialist, Ogazi is a quarter-miler by choice, and a good one at that. In June, the pair left Hayward Field and the NCAA Championships with a combined three first-team All-American honors. While Orogot finished fourth in the 200m, Ogazi finished runner-up in the 400m as he went sub-45 and notched a new lifetime best.
Orogot is heading into his senior year with wind-legal PB's of 10.06 and 19.75 from the SEC Outdoor Championships in May. Ogazi is flexing a 44.52 PB in the 400m. It's safe to say that these two stars can help lead the Crimson Tide to new heights.
4 - Jadyn Mays (Oregon)
The most beloved sprinter in all of Oregon, is coming back for her last hurrah. She is chasing the coveted national title, and possibly the 100m-200m double.
Mays, who was running really well towards the end of the season, sports PB's of 11.01 and 22.19, respectively.
Both marks came when she needed them most, as her 100m performance coming in her title-clinching run at the PAC-12 Championships, followed by her third-place finish at the NCAA Championships where she set her current PB.
After an incredibly long collegiate season, Mays made the U.S. Trials final in the 100m, and advanced as far as the semi-finals in the 200m. The 11x All-American and 7x Pac-12 champ is still gunning for gold, and will have a very good shot to bring another national title to Oregon.

There are plenty of other sprinters in the mix in 2025. We'll continue to introduce them throughout the month of December as we look to preview what 2025 has to offer.
