The 2025 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held March 14-15 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, marking the first time the area has played host.

The men’s and women’s championships will be held simultaneously. 

Athletes competing in the season-ending events will be selected based on qualifying performances from Nov. 29 through March 2, with one additional day (March 3) included for conference championships. 

The list of participants for the 2025 Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships will be available March 4.

The NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships again will air on the ESPN family of networks in 2025.

What Is The Format For The NCAA Division I Indoor Track And Field Championships?

The men’s and women’s championships will take place simultaneously, and each will include 17 events:

  • 60-Meter Dash
  • 200 Meters
  • 400 Meters
  • 800 Meters
  • Mile
  • 3,000 Meters
  • 5,000 Meters
  • 60-Meter Hurdles
  • Pole Vault
  • Hammer Throw
  • Long Jump
  • High Jump
  • Triple Jump
  • Shot Put
  • 4x400 Relay
  • Distance Medley Relay
  • *Women’s Pentathlon 
  • *Men’s Heptathlon

About The Virginia Beach Sports Center

The Virginia Beach Sports Center opened in the fall of 2020 and quickly is becoming a top destination for premier events. 

The 285,000-square foot facility is located less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean and steps from the Virginia Beach Convention Center. 

The property includes 12 basketball courts, 24 volleyball courts and an indoor hydraulic track with seating for up to 5,000 guests. There’s plenty up space to meet, warm up and compete in comfort, with easy access to dining, shopping, entertainment and hotels.

What Teams Won At The 2024 NCAA Division I Indoor Track And Field Championships?

Arkansas won the women’s title at the 2024 Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships. The win was the second in a row for the Razorbacks. The University of Florida was the runner-up.

Texas Tech earned the men’s title in 2024, while Arkansas, the reigning champion, finished in second place.

What Schools Have Won The Most Titles At The NCAA Division I Indoor Track And Field Championships?

The NCAA Division I Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championships first was held in 1965. 

Arkansas owns the most men’s titles with 21 and is followed by the University of Texas at El Paso (seven), Florida and Oregon (five), and USC and LSU (two). Eleven schools have one championship each.

The NCAA Division I Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships first was held in 1983. 

LSU has won the most women’s titles with 11 and is followed by Oregon (seven), Texas (six) and Arkansas (three). Arizona State, Nebraska, Tennessee and UCLA each have two, and Florida, Florida State and Georgia own one apiece.

The 2025 Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships (men and women) will take place March 13-15 at the Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.

When Are The 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track And Field Championships?

The 2025 Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships (men and women) will take place March 14-15 at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, New York.
