For Benjamin, it'll mark his first indoor competition since 2021. Then, he finished second in the 400m at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix while it was still at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in New York. In the 2025 installment of the event, he'll be dropping down to the 300m and will compete against Vernon Norwood, who has won four Olympic relay medals in his career.
Benjamin enters the 2025 season after a superb 2024 campaign where he won Olympic gold in the 400m hurdles, besting stiff competitors Karsten Warholm and Alison dos Santos.
Jacobs, an Olympic gold medalist in his own right, will face off with the Paris Olympics 100m champion, Noah Lyles, in the men's 60m. He's been on the comeback train for quite some time since winning gold in the 100m in Tokyo. He has battled through numerous injuries and ended his 2024 season with a fifth-place finish in Paris in his premier event.
It will also mark Jacobs' first-ever indoor track competition on North American soil.
Meanwhile, on the distance side, the Paris Olympics men's 5,000m and 10,000m bronze medalist, Grant Fisher, will bump down in distance -- all the way down to the 1,500m. Fisher will compete against previously announced Jake Wightman, along with other athletes that have not yet been announced.
Additionally, Paris Olympics women's 1,500m silver and bronze medalists Hull and Bell will race in the women's 3,000m against a field that includes Parker Valby, who will be making her pro debut representing New Balance. Hull and Bell enter the season coming off of breakthrough years. Hull set a world record in the women's 2,000m and Bell broke the British 1,500m record en-route to her bronze medal at the Olympics.
The 2025 NB Indoor Grand Prix will run from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. EST on Feb. 2.
