Get ready for a battle between two of the world's best milers in New York this indoor season.

That's because Paris Olympics men's 1,500m silver medalist Josh Kerr and bronze medalist Yared Nuguse are set to compete in the NYRR Wanamaker Mile at the 2025 Millrose Games on Feb. 8, as announced by meet organizers on Thursday. The two will headline a stacked field that also includes currently American Hobbs Kessler, who finished fifth in that epic 1,500m race in Paris, as well as Great Britain's Neil Gourley, Pietro Arese of Italy and France's Azeddine Habz.

For Kerr and Nuguse, it will mark the duo's second matchup since the Olympics. The two last raced on Sep. 5 at the Zurich Diamond League, with Nuguse winning in 3:29.21 and Kerr taking sixth in 3:31.46.

It won't be the first time they've competed at the Millrose Games in their careers. Last year, Kerr set the world record in the indoor 2-mile at the event, clocking 8:00.27. Nuguse won the Wanamaker Mile in 2024 with a time of 3:47.83, marking his second-straight win in the discipline at the Millrose Games.

He'll be hoping to notch his third consecutive Wanamaker Mile win in February.

Nuguse and Kerr have met on the indoor oval before. Kerr narrowly beat Nuguse in the men's 3,000m at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow last March, running 7:42.98 to Nuguse's 7:43.59 for silver.

But don't count out the rest of the field in this upcoming mile showdown. Kessler moved up the U.S. all-time list in the mile with his 3:48.66 performance in the Wanamaker Mile last year, finishing second to only Nuguse. Gourley has also finished runner-up to Nuguse before at the Millrose Games, earning that place with a 3:49.46 effort in the mile in 2023.

Arese placed eighth in the 1,500m at the Paris Olympics and holds a 1,500m PR of 3:29.26. Habz has run 3:48.64 for the mile outdoors, which came at the 2023 Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon.

The 117th Millrose Games will feature an array of top professional and high school competitions held at The Armory in New York on Feb. 8.
