Julien Alfred To Compete At Diamond League Oslo, Stockholm Meetings
The Paris Olympic champion and 2024 Diamond League champion over 100 meters has been confirmed for the Diamond League Oslo and Stockholm meetings in 2025.
Meeting organizers announced on Tuesday that Julien Alfred, the Paris Olympic champion and 2024 Diamond League champion in the women's 100m, will compete at the Bislett Games in Oslo, Norway and BAHAUS-galan Stockholm, both part of the 2025 Wanda Diamond League calendar.
Alfred will contest the 100m in Oslo on Jun. 12 before traveling to Stockholm to compete at the same distance three days later on Jun. 15.
"Visiting the Scandinavian countries is one of my dreams, especially doing what I love...running fast," said Alfred in a statement.

2024 was quite the first full year on the pro level for Alfred, who starred previously on the collegiate level for Texas. During the indoor season, she took home gold in the women's 60m at the World Indoor Championships, and later followed that up outdoors with two more wins in the 100m at the Paris Olympics and in the 100m at the Diamond League final in Brussels.
In addition to her gold in the 100m in Paris, the St. Lucian star earned silver in the 200m.
Alfred competed well on the Diamond League circuit last year as well, winning the 100m at Diamond League Monaco and Brussels and earning runner-up finishes in the 100m in Zurich and Eugene. She also took second in the 200m at the London Diamond League meeting.
"We are happy to welcome the 100 meters champion to our town and we are glad that she has chosen to compete in the Wanda Diamond League series," said Stockhom meet director Jan Kowalski in a press release. "We have an old stadium record of 10.90 from 1994 that we look forward to being broken."
Alfred holds a personal best of 10.72 over 100 meters, set at Stade de France in the Paris Olympics women's 100m final.
