For the few remaining doubters who are still not convinced there is a little bit of magic in Boston University's Track & Tennis Center, we present to you night one of the iconic BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational.

It was truly a historic evening in Boston on Friday as world, national and collegiate records all went down amid 81 heats of mid-distance and distance races.

Grant Fisher Shatters Indoor 5,000m World Record, Second WR in Six Days

Words can't put Fisher's legendary performance into perspective, but it's worth a shot.

Not even a week after lowering the men 's 3,000m indoor world record at the Millrose Games, the 27-year-old added another world record to his ever-growing list of accomplishments.

In his first trip to BU this year, Fisher pulled away from the field before navigating through it, ultimately stopping the clock at 12:44.09. The world record holder led Frenchman Jimmy Gressier to a national record, marking his first-ever sub-13-minute performance.

Fisher is now the only person ever to break 12:45 indoors and one of just 11 to achieve that mark overall. Arkansas' Yaseen Abdalla was third overall in 13:09.99, the No. 8 time in collegiate history and an Arkansas school record.

Tinoda Matsatsa Runs Third-Fastest 800m in NCAA History

The Georgetown star's first indoor trip below 1:46 vaulted him up to No. 3 on the all-time NCAA 800m indoor list, making him the fastest collegian indoors since 2018.

Tinoda Matsatsa's 1:45.21 performance from Friday sits behind only those of Paul Ereng (Virginia) and Michael Saruni (UTEP), and he was just two-hundredths of a second away from passing Saruni. Matsatsa held off Cian McPhillips (1:45.33) and led six under 1:50 in his heat, with 28 doing so in total.

Romain Legendre Breaks Second NCAA DII Record This Season

Another day, another record for the Adams State standout.

In his first indoor 3,000m race as a Grizzly, the senior clocked 7:36.28, shattering the NCAA DII record by seven seconds.

Legendre also broke Miguel Coca's program record of 7:44.90, which lasted just over a year. For now, he sits at No. 6 on the all-time collegiate, which pairs nicely with the DII 5,000m record he set a few weeks ago.

Legendre ran 13:02.08 in that record-breaking run, the No. 3 indoor 5k time ever run by a collegian. Gulveer Singh and Morgan Beadlescomb were second and third in 7:38.26 and 7:38.55, with Singh notching a new Indian record.

Daniel Watcke Moves To No. 3 On NCAA 1k List

Welcome to the show, Dan Watcke. In his second 1000m race as a Villanova Wildcat, the freshman held his own against Atlanta Track Club Elite's Luciano Fior,e who snagged the win in 2:16.74, a facility record.

Watcke was runner-up in 2:17.77, the third-fastest time in collegiate history. The Illinois native is now one of three collegians to ever run quicker than 2:18 and is the third-fastest this season. Holy Cross junior Liam Lyons was third in 2:21.16.

Princeton's Harrison Witt Leads 36 To Sub-Four Mile

As senior Harrison Witt stepped up to the line yesterday for the men's mile, he had a PB of 3:56.12, which was the current Princeton and Ivy League record.

After the gun went off, Witt needed just 3:52.87 to stop the clock and notch an absurd personal record.

Witt led nearly 40 men under 4:00 with him, with nine of them breaking 3:55. After watching Luke Houser and Ben Allen battle to the line in 3:53, Witt left nothing up to chance in the second heat, pulling away from Benne Anderson (Syracuse) who ran 3:54.12.
