Oregon Sets NCAA Women's Indoor DMR Record At BU Terrier DMR Challenge 2025
The Oregon women ran to a new women's indoor collegiate distance medley relay record on Friday at the BU Terrier DMR Challenge.
Friday was the day for breaking DMR records.
In Boston at the BU Terrier DMR Challenge/Last Chance meet, the Oregon women lowered the NCAA indoor distance medley relay record to 10:42.05.
The mark surpasses the 10:43.39 previous record set by Washington in Boston just last year.

The quartet of Julia Nielsen, Moriah Oliveira, Mia Barnett and Silan Ayyildiz got the job done for the Ducks, beginning with Nielsen's 3:18.06 split on the 1,200m opening leg. Oliveira followed up with a 52.46 400m split, and Barnett kept the team in position in the lead with North Carolina with a 2:15.07 800m leg. Ayyildiz, the NCAA mile record holder, closed out both the winning and record-breaking performance for Oregon, running 4:26.46 over the final eight laps.
Their performance at BU on Friday shaved over five seconds off of their previous program best indoors.
But they weren't the only team to move up the rankings at the DMR Challenge. North Carolina now sits among the top indoor DMR performers in collegiate history with their 10:44.71 clocking in second.
Earlier in the day, Virginia ran a new men's collegiate DMR record of 9:14.19 at the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville.

The 2025 BU Terrier DMR Challenge/Last Chance is slated to begin at 6 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 21. Both the men's and women's events will be raced on Friday.
