Jacobs won the 2021 Olympic Gold in the 100m, and took fifth in the 100m at the 2024 games. Jacobs will hope to kick off the season with a win in Shanghai against some of the world's top contenders.
Thompson is one of those contenders. He took silver in Paris over 100m with his 9.79 clocking. He nearly took the gold, but was nabbed by Noah Lyles at the line, losing by just two thousandths of a second. The 100m specialist is currently Jamaica's top sprinter and his success on the world stage is expected.
Coleman, Simbine, Zhenye and Azu round out the list. Coleman is well known for his quick start. He still holds the indoor 60m world record at 6.34 and he is the sixth fastest man in 100m history with his 9.76.
