Jakob Ingebrigtsen Wins 1500m, Claims World Indoors Double in Nanjing

Jakob Ingebrigtsen becomes the first man to claim the 1500 meter / 3000 meter World Indoor Championships double gold since Haile Gebresilasie.

One day after winning gold in the men's 3,000 meters in Nanjing, Jakob Ingebrigtsen claimed a second gold medal, winning the men's 1,500 meters in 3:38.79

With the win, he became the first man to claim the 1500 meter / 3000 meter World Indoor Championships double gold since Haile Gebresilasie achieved the feat at the 1999 World Indoor Championships in Maebashi. 

Ingebrigtsen's two gold medals in Nanjing bring his career global medals total to nine, including six golds.

Great Britain's Neil Gourley took second (3:39.07), and American Luke Houser finished third (3:39.17). Each athlete earned his first global medal.
